About Ingenix —
Automation Engineering Excellence

We build the tools we wished existed.

Ingenix is a team of engineers based in Northwest Houston, Texas. We design and build hardware automation products from the ground up — PCB layout, firmware, cloud connectivity, and the software that ties it all together. Every product we ship started as a problem one of us was genuinely frustrated by. ShakerBot+ is the first of many.

Our philosophy is simple: build it right, make it open, ship OTA updates forever. No planned obsolescence. No proprietary lock-in. Just well-engineered tools that do exactly what they say.

The Team

Collectively, the Ingenix team brings over 150 years of engineering experience across hardware design, server firmware, system and enterprise software, and IoT. Every member has shipped products used by millions of people.

Mike T. Gill

Hardware Lead

Mike is a seasoned hardware engineering leader and manager with more than 40 years of experience overseeing the design of enterprise-grade computer systems. His background spans engineering management, component selection, signal integrity, thermal management, and large-scale manufacturing bring-up. For Ingenix, Mike designed the mechanical enclosure for ShakerBot+, creating the production-ready STL model that gives the device its compact, functional, and 3D-printable form.

Jorge Cisneros

Firmware / Software Engineer

Jorge is a multi-discipline engineer with deep experience in both firmware and full-stack software development. At HPE he worked on server firmware security — including boot-time signature validation and baseboard management controllers — and is named on multiple patents. He drives the ShakerBot+ firmware architecture — including OTA update infrastructure, Bluetooth HID, and the web configurator. He is also a maker at heart: he designed and built Remotsy, an IoT device that lets Alexa control any IR-based appliance, including custom hardware, firmware, REST API, and Smartthings integration.

David Engler

Hardware Engineer

David is the technical architect behind ShakerBot+’s PCB — responsible for the compact dual-sided layout, ESP32-S3 integration, USB-C power path, quick-switch data line circuit, and the three-LED status system. His discipline is that no unit ships without being fully prototyped and validated on the bench first. He brings the kind of deep expertise that catches problems before they become manufacturing issues.

How ShakerBot Started

Like most good hardware projects, ShakerBot started with a genuine annoyance. Several of us were working in corporate environments with aggressive screen-lock policies — a few minutes of inactivity and you’re locked out, requiring two-factor re-authentication every single time. The existing “mouse jigglers” on the market were dumb USB dongles with no scheduling, no connectivity, and no configurability.

So we built one ourselves. We put together a wish list of everything a proper device should do, and didn’t stop until every item was checked off. The result was the original ShakerBot, followed by ShakerBot+ — an ESP32-S3-based device with per-day scheduling, Bluetooth HID, OTA firmware updates, and a live browser-based configurator at shakerbot.local. No app. No account. No cloud dependency. Just plug in and configure from any browser on your network.

Technology Partner
